PANDEMIC! As in - In the throes of

Growing up I often thought of what it might be like to live during an apocalyptic era.  Movies such as The Omega Man, Soylent Green etc.  fascinated my imagination.  As I got older other movies were added to the genre, mixed a bit with the Cyberpunk... We have The Matrix, Total Recall, Bladerunner and of course Rollerball.
